On Wednesday 29 July 2020, the Kick-off Meeting of the project Beneficiaries was held with physical and online presence, in Arta, for the project SMARTiMONY, which is implemented within the framework of the Cross-Border cooperation program «Greece-Albania 2014-2020».

The Leader Beneficiary of the project is the Laboratory of Knowledge and Intelligent Computing (KIC-Lab)-University of Ioannina, and participate as Beneficiaries the Municipality of Igoumenitsa, the Prefecture of Gjirokastra and the Regional Centre for Development and Cooperation (RCDC) which based in Tirana. In particular, the Albanian Partners attended the meeting via zoom Platform and the Greek Partners joined the consortium physically.

This meeting was of utmost importance as all partners attended the activities planned and the fruitful discussions including an elaborative roadmap for future steps. Specifically, the Kick-off Meeting gave the chance to the Representatives of the Beneficiaries to discuss the implementation of the Project and the details of Work Packages. The Director of the Laboratory and Scientific responsible of the project Prof. Chrysostomos Stylios reported extensively the adoption of new innovative products/ ICT services for the promotion of the tangible and intangible Cultural Heritage assets in order to attract tourists. The meeting was closed with the election of the Committees of the Project.

The second day, a Study Visit took place in important points of interest. The action closed with the 1st Evaluation Workshop and the participation of interested parties in the realization of the project.
